Imprinting itself, usually takes about 1 1/2 hours. Many low-tier dinos cannot be imprinted because of how fast they grow up, but most of the really good dinos (argies, rexes, etc) can be imprinted before they completely grow up, plus the Kibbler Mod allows you to craft the kibble you might need for the imprint without resorting to cheat commands.
